The Materials Analyst is responsible for materials requirement planning and procurement.
▪ Material Requirements Planning
o Reviews MRP report and takes appropriate action
§ Expedites, cancellations
o Understands cumulative lead times and employs strategy to optimize supplier relationships.
o Understands pull systems and is able to identify opportunities and drive execution.
o Able to utilize various tools to improve service and reduce inventory with supply base.
§ VMI
§ Consignment
§ Lead Time Reductions
o Right sizes inventory levels according to volume in support of ITO objectives.
o Responsible for supplier planning process for products assigned.
▪ Purchase Order Management
o Requisition/Purchase Order Maintenance
§ Promise Date Maintenance
o Special Quote Processing
o Review/Resolve Receiving/Invoice discrepancies
o Review/Resolve Receiving/Packing Slip (ASN) discrepancies.
o Manage transactional activity between company and supplier.
o Responsible for supplier planning process for products assigned.
▪ Maintain housekeeping of work area.
§ Adhere to all Safety Policies and Procedures.
▪ Perform other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
▪ Bachelor degree in Business Management or related field required.
APICS (Advancing, Productivity, Innovation and Competitive Success); Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or Certified in Integrated Resource Management (CIRM) Certification preferred.
Six (6) years related purchasing, materials or distribution experience and/or training in a fast-paced, production environment preferred.
Computer experience with Microsoft Office and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, E-21 and/or Great Plains preferred.
General understanding of report writer programs, and ability to apply this tool.
Lean training experience desired.
Attention to detail and ability for team to meet a common goal required.
Strong relation skills - must be able to deal with vendors, internal customers, Sales, and Customer Relations; Customer service oriented; Problem solving skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment, actively pursues and drives continuous improvement activities, and demonstrates strong leadership abilities
This will be a six to twelve month assignment.
